Parking permits are valid for specified periods based on the permit type. For renewal purposes, permit holders may purchase a permit at the Parking and Transportation office at any time from the start of its renewal period to the designated expiration date. A permit purchased mid-period will have its cost pro-rated based on the date of purchase.
The Parking and Transportation department announces renewal periods and purchase options prior to the end of each period via e-mail, web and print. All permit holders are responsible for renewing and displaying a valid permit at the start of each new permit period.
Visit the What's New page for the most current information about rates and permits offered.
Faculty/Staff Renewals
Faculty and staff annual parking permits are valid starting July 1 of each year, and expire on June 30 of the following year. Faculty and staff members are responsible for renewing and displaying a new permit by July 1st. Permits for the subsequent fiscal year may be purchased by credit card during the renewal period, which typically starts in May.
If you wish to “opt out” of your current permit type, you can use the renewal period to cancel or exchange your current permit for another type.
For more detail on the renewal process, and the latest renewal dates and purchase information, go to Renew a Faculty/Staff Permit.
Student Renewals
Student permits are not renewed automatically. They are sold by semester and are valid for the semester in which the permit was purchased. Students are responsible for purchasing and displaying a valid permit at the start of each semester.
Permits bought mid-semester shall be pro-rated based on the date of purchase.
Check the Student Parking Permits page for the most current and complete information.
Canceling a Permit
Parking permits may be canceled once within any fiscal year (July through June) without a processing charge. More than one cancellation during the fiscal year will incur a processing fee of $50 per cancellation.
In order to cancel your permit:
- Print, complete and sign a Permit Cancellation Form
- Bring the completed form, along with your permit, to the Parking and Transportation office
Permit holders using payroll deduction must submit their cancellation request to the Parking and Transportation office on or before the 10th of the month to prevent a deduction from the following month’s paycheck.
