What's New for 2008-2009 P&T Programs

*The deadline for new Parking Permits and Bear Passes, has been extended to July 10th 2008. 2007 - 2008 Parking Permits and Bear Passes will remain valid through July 31st, 2008. Current monthly payroll deductions will apply.

Rates and Options for 2008-2009

  • P&T will be offering one Night/Weekend parking permit valid from 1:30pm to 2:00am daily, instead of the two permit system currently offered. This consolidated permit offers more hours of parking priced at a lower rate than the previous permit offering the same hours of service.
  • In an effort to standardize daily permit rates, the occasional use parking permit for alternative transportation users has been eliminated; standard daily "F" and "C" permits will be available for sale at one rate for all users.
  • Annual permits will have a new look, hang tags will be issued along with a validation sticker with an expiration date. The Sticker will need to be adhered to the hang-tag. Additional instructions will come with the permit.
  • The AC Transit Bear Pass rate is $37 per month.
  • P&T is offering a free Bear Pass for the first six months of the year to any faculty or staff member that gives up their annual parking permit - see details below.
  • Central and Hill campus shuttles will remain free of charge to CAL ID card holders.

See Parking Permit List or Transit Pass List for pricing details.

Annual Renewals - No Automatic Renewal Offered

Parking and Transportation will not be offering automatic renewal this year for parking permits and the Bear Pass due to changes in administrative procedures and P&T's use of the commuter benefit vendor, WageWorks.

  • There will be no automatic renewal process this year for annual parking permits and Bear Passes and all customers will need to action to request a new permit or pass for the upcoming fiscal year through WageWorks. Customers are requested to take simple verification and ordering actions through WageWorks by June 10th in order to receive the permit or pass by July 1st through the mail.

See Pre-Tax Payroll Deduction Payments for 2008-2009 Permit and Bear Pass Page for details.

  • There will be no on-line credit card annual permit sales offered this year, so customers will need to come to P&T. Customers who wish to pay by cash, check or credit card may purchase an annual parking permit, daily parking permits or Bear pass in person at the P&T office beginning Wednesday June 11th.
